Alex Fisher, proudly accepted the Michigan 2016 Corp Magazine digital award

On April 7, 2016 honorees of the Corp! Magazine Digital, Science, and Technology award gathered at the Vistatech center of SchoolCraft college in Livonia Michigan. Commercial Progression was the proud recipient of the 2016 DiSciTech Digital Award for demonstrating leadership in the field of digital technology. Alex Fisher, Founder of Commercial Progression, was present to receive the award at this gathering of noteworthy Michigan based businesses.

"I am honored to receive this award on behalf of the entire Commercial Progression team," said Alex Fisher, founder of Commercial Progression. "It is very satisfying to be recognized for the accomplishments we have achieved in the field of open source web design and development with Drupal. Our work with recognizable name brands in Michigan, like the University of Michigan and ZF-TRW, has certainly contributed to this success."

This Michigan technology awards event was sponsored by the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small businesses strategic growth program, of which Alex Fisher is a recent graduate.

"Working through the Goldman Sachs program with the Detroit cohort over the past year has brought a new focus on strategic growth, this award is evidence to the positive results of the 10,000 small businesses program," said Fisher.

This symposium event agenda included networking and guest speakers in addition to the awards ceremony. Dan Lohrmann, Chief Strategist & Chief Security Officer for Security Mentor, presented an incisive and timely challenge to engage the risks of modern technology. Offering candid anecdotes from his own career, Lohrmann presented the need to overcome our fears of the vulnerabilities of technology with positive and proactive measures.

"Dan captured many of the concerns and pitfalls of addressing digital security," said Fisher. "What he presented resonates with much of Commercial Progression's approach to proactive web security. We realized that our customers could not back down from the demands of modern open source website design, so we created our own DrupalCare proactive security and maintenance product to address these needs."

Another focus of the symposium event was the celebration of Michigan companies that are contributing to making the region a better place to live and work. Commercial Progression is committed to building a sustainable company that attracts key talent to challenging technology projects with a strong work-life balance.

"We are a growing company and excited about our current growth in Michigan," said Fisher, "with the successful launch of our Grand Rapids office we are ready for continued expansion of our team and client base."
